About Me.

I think my desire to do creative endeavors was in me at birth. A few years ago a friend asked me, why do you do art? The question puzzled me and then after pondering the question I responded, “I’m not sure if it is possible for me not to do art, it’s what I do.”
In high school I majored in art and it was my good fortune that the high school I attended had an amazing ceramics teacher who shared with me his love of clay. Through his support I grew to love working with clay. In my senior year of unbeknownst to me he submitted one of my pieces to a juried art show at a nearby college. When I went to see the show I was stunned to find out that my piece had taken “Best of Show”. I personally didn’t think the piece was very good so I stuck on the back of a shelf in his classroom and forgot about it. You could imagine my surprise seeing it at the show.
After graduating from Sonoma State college I worked in the sales industry for a number of years until one day I realized I was bored with doing sales. It was then that I decided to change careers and go into interior design. I went back to college and took design classes in the architecture department at UC Berkeley, as well as taking two semesters of mechanical drawing and two semesters of drafting at a local Junior College. I worked as a designer in Marin County and then moved to Colorado to be the lead designer for at a design center in Boulder.
I am now retired from designing and I do my artwork in a private studio behind my home in Santa Rosa, CA.
